β€œQueen Elisabeth and Asbestos snow”

ENG: Durational performance of 4 hours and 15 minutes

While I was on my residency in Monfalcone at a sail-making enterprise I wrote four poems about capitalism and the miscommunication it causes between the workers (a huge communuty of the workers are from Bangladesh, and there are also a lot of ex-Yugoslavian immigrants) and the Italian citizens.
We translated the poems in four languages: Serbian, English, Italian and Bengali.
I wrote them on the leftover materials we got from the enterprise and together with the audience we stitched them together in a new sail.

In part II of the performance the sail will be attached to a boat that will sail from Monfalcone to Trieste, where the big cruisers go.

β€œQueen Elisabeth” is the name of one of the important cruisers made in Monfalcone, designed for rich European travelers. Asbestos snow is a reference to the asbestos poisoning scandals that follow the region.

The translations were kindly done by Hossian Kawsar, Cristina Miatovich, Elisa Giordano and Mirjana Karanović.
